I have an 1886 "copy" of an Eastern Marion County map - has last names of people who lived in the area & home location. Large map - 100+KB

I have approximately 30 West Virginia / Virginia topographic maps that were printed between 1915 - 1945. They are the 15 ’(minute) size, which the USGS (United States Geological Survey) quit producing long ago. An older 15' map shows the same amount of area as four of today's 7.5' topographic's do. West Virginia was surveyed by USGS between 1886 -1925. Most of the maps are in good shape considering they are close to 100 years old. They show names and locations of the old one-room schools, original road routes and probably most of the first generation homes. The links below are part of a map. Example: Canaan, shows just Canaan Valley, not Dolly Sods or Red Creek. Each file is approximately 75Kb.
